This year, 2019 was tremendous from the perspective of UX and UI design and development and a lot of advancements could be seen from AI to chatbots and voice assistants that guarantee personalization and emotionally connecting with customers. But, for certain we can say that “it is just a start.”

a. To make designs more intuitive, UX and UI design and development services are projecting all their efforts in reducing user hesitation to minimum and deliver seamless intuitive designs. For example, a feature should be visible to the user only when he requires it and a design where the user is not overwhelmed with quite many features that he doesn’t really know how to make the best use of them.

b. Interface, voice-activated - Voice command is flourishing. We can see a nice number of voice activated home devices from Alexa to Google Home and they’re doing really great. This is where websites are now keen to adopt voice-activated technology, an incredible amount of space for innovating designs.

Predictions even say that at least half of all searches will be done through voice commands. This is where websites should stay a step ahead in voice searches.

c. IoT is the next big leap - IoT or Internet of Things is doing incredibly well in Industrial manufacturing in the form of IIoT or Industrial Internet of Things. Smallest of devices can be made digitally smarter through sensor installation imparting them the capability to connect with every other similar device through the internet and transmit information thereafter. This, beyond what industrialists could envision, brought tremendous potential in Big Data Analytics and speeded quality predictions.

d. Content remains the King - From the time Internet was born and until today, content has played an incredible role in design. People are using content more than ever and it is definitely one of the imperatives in design, technology, and content. UX and UI design and development companies are more and more following the practices of structuring the content well, erasing the fancy stuff that emphasizes only on the content, and using white space wherever needed.

e. AR and VR - That’s Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality giving UI design and development an edge. More and more applications employing AR and VR are being rolled out. One of the most prominent we see today is IKEA using AR for displaying how the furniture would give your drawing room a totally new, cool look. AR can be used in upping the UI through navigation, animation, interaction, and elements presentation in app-designs.

f. AI and the chatbots - AI i.e. Artificial Intelligence have become mainstream now. More and more industries are using AI to reduce the amount of manual efforts and intervention. Chatbots are offering more personalized assistance giving voice assistants a fair chance in UX and UI design and development trends.

In a nutshell

Apart from the practices we’ve aforementioned, the overlapping effect (bold colors, gradients, and monochrome gives more depth to the platform), illustrations (designers can narrate stories in less amount of content and more unique images), and using motion designs such as complex animations giving websites a more sophisticated look.
